Overall Goal: Participants will develop the capacity to utilize the elements of Motivational Interviewing in group counseling.

Target Audience: Helping professionals who work with groups, including social workers, mental health counselors, recovery coaches, rehabilitation counselors, and others; participants must have completed both Basic and Intermediate Motivational Interviewing.

Learning Level: Advanced

Learning Objectives:

* Describe and identify the hub-and-spoke model, relatedness model, and the spirit and skills of MI as they are applied in group work.

* Assess and demonstrate use of Motivational Interviewing spirit, skills, and strategies in practice group conversations.

* Use focusing and planning tools in simulated MI group experiences.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIVE INTERACTIVE WEBINARS: For live interactive webinar trainings, participants will need a computer or smart device with a stable internet connection; connected or integrated microphone, speakers, and camera; and ability to interface with Zoom version 5.x. After registering for a course, you will receive an email containing the Zoom login information. Please ensure that you log in at least 5 minutes prior to the start time of your training to ensure a prompt start.

CERTIFICATES: To receive a certificate of completion and Continuing Education Credit, if applicable, attendees must attend all scheduled sessions in their entirety and complete a course evaluation. No partial credit will be given. Evaluations will be distributed to participants immediately following in person trainings. Evaluations will be emailed to participants after completion of a live interactive webinar. Certificates will be issued via email within 14 days of completion of course requirements. 

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Registration will close one week prior to the first day of the training event for both in-person and live interactive webinar events.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Registered participants must cancel their registration a minimum of 14 days prior to the training event to receive a refund of half of their registration fee, or can elect to receive full credit toward a future training.
